OMV will submit an application to extend production from the PMP 38160 permit in New Zealand’s offshore Taranaki Basin, said partner Cue Energy in a results update.

The Maari joint venture is focused on potential production enhancement, cost reduction and CO2 reduction opportunities, Cue added.

During the second quarter, production from the Maari Field was lower due to the failures of electric submersible pumps in the MR8a and MR10 wells. Following repairs, production from both wells has been reinstated.

The resumption of the MR6a workover should start shortly, aimed at suspending the existing production zone and perforating the Matapo and Kap100 reservoirs to produce oil from those zones.
