Petra assumes late-life responsibilities for Banang Field offshore Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Petronas, via Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), has awarded Petra Energy Development a late-life asset production sharing contract for the Banang Field offshore Peninsular Malaysia.
This new arrangement started June 1 and replaces a technical service agreement with Petra to manage Banang’s production operations on behalf of Petronas, which ended on May 31.
Banang produced first oil in 2014 as part of the Kapal, Banang and Meranti Cluster Small Field Risk Service Contract. Its production peaked at 14,000 bbl/d in 2015.
