STAVANGER, Norway -- Seadrill's drillship West Navigator suffered damages to the BOP and the subsea equipment due to deteriorating weather during a planned disconnection from the well, the company said today.
As a result, drilling was temporarily halted. The extent of the damages and the subsequent repair time are uncertain, Seadrill said.
The vessel is contracted to Shell on Ormen Lange on the Norwegian continental shelf.
