RIO DE JANEIRO –Petrobras says that in 3Q 2014 it became the largest producer of liquid hydrocarbons among publicly traded companies, passing ExxonMobil. In oil and natural gas combined, Petrobras says it ranks fourth.
On a percentage basis for the first three quarters of 2014, the company says it showed the largest increase in oil production among public companies at a plus 3.3%. Following that, the company says that on Dec. 21, 2014, it set a new company record of 2.286 MMb/d.
In 2014, the company started up four newstationary production facilities with a combined processing capacity of more than 500,000 b/d which should sustain an increase in production for 2015.
