PTTEP adding more platforms, wells at G1/61 offshore Thailand

PTTEP has increased gas deliveries from the G1/61 project in the Gulf of Thailand to 800 MMcf/d to support Thailand’s energy security.

BANGKOK, ThailandPTTEP has increased gas deliveries from the G1/61 project in the Gulf of Thailand to 800 MMcf/d to support Thailand’s energy security.

The Department of Mineral Fuels awarded PTTEP the production sharing contract in 2019. It has since focused on measures to speed up production growth and improve the integrity of facilities and equipment.

To date, PTTEP has installed 12 new wellhead platforms and subsea pipelines and drilled more than 300 new producing wells. 

It plans to add a further eight wellhead platforms and drill more than 300 producer wells for G1/61. It has budgeted about THB30,000 million ($824 million) for the development in 2024.
