LONDON — Perenco UK has produced first gas from the C06 well, a near-field discovery in the Ravenspurn South area of the UK southern North Sea.

Late last year, the jackup Valaris-247 drilled and completed the deviated well 42/30-C06 in 48 m water depth.

It was initially linked to test facilities to enable a flow rate of 12 MMcf/d to the Cleeton offshore hub and onward to the Dimlington terminal on the Yorkshire coast.

The well will be connected to the Perenco-operated production network, with new pipework fitted to the RSC topsides. The company expects to book 20 Bcf to 40 Bcf in reserves from the previously undrilled block at the northeastern limit of the Ravenspurn South Field.

It follows the recent startups of the D15 and D16 wells at the Ravenspurn North Field, also drilled by the Valaris-247. The three new wells should add 40 MMscf/d, lifting Perenco’s operated production in the southern gas basin by about 20%.
