ATHENS, GreeceEnergean has produced first gas from the Karish North subsea tieback to the FPSO Energean Power offshore Israel.

Production is heading through the vessel’s second gas export riser, which was installed last December, allowing increased use of the platform’s gas handling capacity.

The Energean Power FPSO now has four production wells in operation, providing improved flexibility to satisfy demand of gas buyers.

The company also announced it has signed a new 15-year gas sales purchase agreement with Eshkol Energies Generation covering an initial 0.6 Bcm/year , rising to 1 Bcm/year from 2032 onward.

Energean supplies gas to all four IEC power stations in Israel that have been privatized: Ramat Hovav, Alon Tavor, East Hagit and now Eshkol.

The agreement covers a total volume of close to 12 Bcm and should provide revenues of about $2 billion over the duration of the contract.
