HONG KONG—CNOOC has started production from the Penglai 19-3 oilfield area 5/10 development in the south-central Bohai Sea offshore eastern China, in an average water depth of 30 m.
The company has a 51% operated interest in the project, with the remainder held by ConocoPhillips.
Production comes from two wellhead platforms. CNOOC plans to drill a total of 87 production wells and 43 water injectors, with the facilities delivering about 29,800 bbl/d of crude oil at peak in 2027.
