CNOOC achieves record production

HONG KONGCNOOC participated in new discoveries in the first half of this year, and successful appraisals of 14 oil and gas fields.

One of the appraisal campaigns was on the Kenli 10-2 structure offshore China, proving in-place volume of nearly 100 MM t of oil.

Testing of the Baodao 21-1 structure delivered a strong gas flow rate, indicating potentially a 100-bcm reserve.

Offshore Guyana, CNOOC participated in the ExxonMobil-operated Uaru-2 and Longtail-3 discoveries in the Stabroek block.

Six of the new projects CNOOC planned for this year have started production. In addition, the company took various steps to develop the potential of producing oil and gas fields, leading to increased volumes.

In the first half of the year, the company’s net oil and gas production reached a record high of 278.1 MMboe, up 7.9% on the period for the previous year.

Highlights included start-up of Lingshui 17-2, the company's first large deepwater gas field development, via a 100,000-ton semisubmersible production and storage platform.
