HONG KONG – CNOOC has brought onstream the Penglai 25-6 oilfield area 3 project offshore eastern China ahead of schedule.
The development is in the south central Bohai Sea, in average water depths of around 27 m (88.6 ft).
It involved construction of a new wellhead platform linked to existing processing facilities at the Penglai oilfields. CNOOC and partner ConocoPhillips plan 58 development wells, comprising 38 producers and 20 water injectors, with peak crude production of around 11,511 b/d in 2023.
