OSLO, Norway — Equinor has handed DeepOcean a four-year frame agreement for marine services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and internationally.
The scope covers subsea intervention and repair contingency for subsea pipelines, structures and high-voltage cables for offshore oil and gas fields and renewable energy developments.
The agreement extends to contingency work for the PRSI, a group of 23 energy companies, and covers their offshore pipeline and power cable repair needs.
DeepOcean will manage the program from its office in Haugesund, supported where needed by its international operations.
For offshore oil and gas, the frame agreement covers planned or unplanned marine services using remotely operated interventions. For renewable energy, it covers planned or unplanned marine services related to subsea high-voltage cables.
DeepOcean may also be asked to perform various engineering or preparedness studies by Equinor or PRSI pool members.
Under the arrangement’s first call-offs, Gassco and Equinor, DeepOcean will undertake seabed preparations and remote hot tap tie-in operations at three different locations offshore Norway, a technique that involves connecting to a pressurized system (pipeline) without removing the pipe from service.
On behalf of the same two companies, DeepOcean has already performed marine services to support baseline inline inspection of a large pipeline.
