NORTH PERTH, Australia — The Gardline MV Ocean Observer has completed a pipeline route survey in the southern UK North Sea over the export routes for gas production from the Anning and Somerville field developments.
According to Hartshead Resources, the survey, which lasted over a month, ran more than 1,000 km of seismic lines, 52 cone penetration tests and 23 vibrocores to define the condition of the seabed status.
In addition, the team acquired 27 seabed samples and implemented camera transects to identify any habitats and provide input to the environmental baseline survey.
Materials recovered will undergo laboratory analysis with results likely relayed early next year, also providing input to the environmental statement for the development project.
Elements of the full survey report will support the invitation to tender for the EPCI scope for the offshore pipelines EPCI, which has been issued to five pipeline and subsea installation contracting companies.
Hartshead expects to make a tender award in early 2024.
