McDermott to install platforms, pipelines for Sarawak Shell

HOUSTON — Sarawak Shell has awarded McDermott an offshore transportation and installation (T&I) contract for the F22, F27 and Selasih fields (FaS) pipelay and heavy-lift project offshore eastern Malaysia.

McDermott will perform T&I services for two pipelines and one section of flexible pipelay, also providing pre-commissioning works on all infield pipelines and installation of three jackets and topsides.

It is the fourth project the company is executing for Shell under its Subsea and Floating Facilities project portfolio. The company will assign its center in Kuala Lumpur to support the program, providing project management and engineering and drawing on local expertise.

McDermott’s DLV2000 heavy-lift and pipelay vessel will handle all offshore installations.
