The scope of their contract, awarded by Esso Exploration and Production Guyana, covers project management, engineering and installation of about 190 km of pipeline in water depths of up to 1,450 m, with the associated shallow-water portion and onshore approach.
The pipeline will make landfall west of the Demerara River, along the coast of Guyana.
Hans van Gaalen, commercial director for Van Oord, said the project would contribute to the development of Guyana’s electricity supply, which in turn will reduce the country’s dependence on imported fuels.
