Next Geosolutions Europe has acquired the Deep Helder vessel from SeaMar Subsea and renamed it NG Surveyor.
Following a refit, NextGeo plans to pitch the vessel for geophysical, geotechnical, environmental and UXO (unexploded ordnance) surveys.
NG Surveyor, constructed in 2014, is 64.8 m long and 15.8 m wide, with a 500-sq-m deck space and a DP2 positioning system.
The company plans to add three multi-beam echosounders, a sub-bottom profiler and an acoustic positioning system, allowing the vessel to undertake high-resolution surveys both in shallow to mid water depths, and in "full ocean depth" (up to 11,000 m).
