TGS is undertaking a new 2D seismic reprocessing project in the East Java Sea offshore Indonesia, covering more than 4,600 km of 2D data in the southwestern part of the basin.

This will be the fifth reprocessing program over the basin this year.

For the latest project, the company will deploy techniques, including broadband pre-stack time migration (PSTM), pre-stack depth migration (PSDM) and full wave inversion (FWI).

David Hajovsky, executive vice president of Multi-Client with TGS, said, "Our data in the region aims to provide new insights into the deeper basin structure and stratigraphy, targeting a broad range of geological features including conventional traps, carbonates, stratigraphic plays and fractured basement."

The project has industry funding.
