LEIDSCHENDAM, the Netherlands — Fugro has started a site characterization program for a wind farm development offshore Japan.
The area covered is off the cities of Murakami and Tainai, in Niigate Prefecture. RWE, Mitsui and Osaka Gas are jointly developing the project.
Fugro’s geo-data will support the detailed design of the turbine foundations and cable routes.
The jackup platform is conducting field work alongside Fugro’s Equator and Mariner vessels, all equipped with the company’s geophysical, geotechnical and positioning systems.
