StatoilHydro awards $231 million for offshore seismic in 2009

StatoilHydro ASA says it has awarded NOK 1.2 billion ($231 million) in contracts for towed, multi-streamer seismic surveys in 2009.

STAVANGER, Norway –StatoilHydro ASA says it has awarded NOK 1.2 billion ($231 million) in contracts for towed, multi-streamer seismic surveys in 2009.

Covering the Norwegian continental shelf plus the Faroes and Ireland, individual contracts out of the total have gone to PGS Geophysical, CGG Veritas, and Wavefield Inseis for four, two, and one vessel, respectively.

The work includes 2D, 3D, and 4D exploration, with an emphasis on 3D, StatoilHydro says.
