OSLO, Norway — TGS has committed the Kutei 2Dcubed survey in the Kutei Basin offshore Indonesia, which will extend north from the East Java Sea 2Dcubed project area that finished late last year.
The latter was designed to support exploration across the South Makassar and Northeast Java offshore regions. The Kutei project will employ 2Dcubed technology to integrate all existing seismic data into a single, conformable package that will cover more than 380,000 sq km offshore Indonesia.
2Dcubed generates a 3D seismic volume from a set of 2D lines, using a structurally conformable interpolation algorithm to allow large databases of 2D to be matched and merged into a single tool for fast-track exploration.
Any legacy 3D seismic data will be post-stack merged into the 2Dcubed volume to provide continuous regional coverage.
TGS’ existing offerings for the region incude the Facies Map Browser (FMB) product, which generates a stratigraphic model based on well and seismic data over the East Java Sea and Kutei basins.
