A single realization (P90) of effective porosity from geostatistical inversion for a reservoir layer in a producing presalt field offshore Brazil enhances the understanding of reservoir quality for field development planning. This model was generated using data processed with the latest CGG imaging technology and RockMod geostatistical inversion to integrate all available information, including seismic, well data and other a-priori information to derive more accurate reservoir property estimates and understand their uncertainty. MASSY, France—Petrobras has lengthened CGG’s reservoir services contract by four years.
Reservoir characterization specialists at CGG’s service center in Rio de Janeiro have supported Petrobras for the past 15 years, helping the company address geophysical issues associated with presalt and post-salt fields.
Under the terms of the contract, CGG will continue to provide geostatistical, 4D and azimuthal inversion, also bringing in new technologies to Brazil such as EBPetro and EBMatch ensemble-based petrophysical inversion and history matching, machine learning-augmented rock physics workflows, PP-PS inversion, and joint azimuthal inversion of amplitudes and velocities.
