Petrobras extends geophysical software arrangement with CGG

CGG has signed an expanded five-year licensing agreement with Petrobras for the supply of Geovation software.

Geovation provides processing and imaging results for all types of projects. It was developed to meet the rapidly growing demands of seismic processing, and it offers a single solution for field, workstation and regional hub environments.

MASSY, France — CGG has signed an expanded five-year licensing agreement with Petrobras for the supply of Geovation software.
Petrobras has used the seismic imaging platform for more than a decade. Under the new terms, its geoscientists will gain access to full-waveform inversion and other technologies, and it will have support from CGG’s GeoTraining team.
The Geovation software platform was designed for geophysicists working with ever-growing datasets and facing increasingly complex imaging challenges, such as presalt illumination.
