OSLO, Norway ā€“ TGS has started a broadband 2D regional seismic data reprocessing program over the Natuna basin, offshore Indonesia.

This encompasses West and East Natuna, and will tie certain ā€˜keyā€™ wells to form a new regional framework, including coverage of the undeveloped Natuna D Alpha gas field and the Paus block, on offer in the current Indonesia Petroleum Bid Round 2021.

TGS plans to combine pre-stack time migration and pre-stack depth migration with FWI to reprocess more than 6,500 km (4,039 mi) of 2D data, helping clients to build structural and geological models for pre-study evaluation purposes.

CEO Kristian Johansen said the results could ā€œhelp re-invigorate exploration across the offshore Natuna basin.ā€

First results should emerge in 4Q 2022.
