Shearwater receives offshore India, Brazil seismic assignments

Shearwater GeoServices has secured a combined 3D and 2D towed streamer seismic acquisition/processing contract in the Andaman Sea and Kerala-Konkan coastal waters offshore eastern India.

BERGEN, Norway – Shearwater GeoServices has secured a combined 3D and 2D towed streamer seismic acquisition/processing contract in the Andaman Sea and Kerala-Konkan coastal waters offshore eastern India.
Work will start during the current quarter. The company will allocate one of its high-capacity 3D vessels for the 1,020-sq km (394-sq mi) 3D survey, which should take around 45 days to shoot.
In addition, Shearwater will acquire 8,400 km (5,219 mi) of 2D data acquisition, followed by full 2D and 3D time processing and depth imaging.
This month, the company will deploy the Oceanic Sirius for the Brazil Nebula extension, newly awarded by CGG. The program should take around six months to complete.
