AMERSFOORT, the Netherlands– Equinor has contracted Yokogawa TechInvent AS to provide 59 FluidCom chemical injection metering valves for two projects offshore Norway.

The valves will be deployed at theJohan Sverdrup Phase 2 project in the Norwegian North Sea and the Johan Castberg field in the Barents Sea. Both projects are scheduled to start-up in 2022.

With flow metering and control functionality, the company says, a FluidCom valve can stably and automatically inject chemicals into a well or pipeline. The valve has few moving parts, so the risk of failure is low, and a self-cleaning function is provided that eliminates the need for maintenance.
