BUDE, UK -- WGP has completed mobilization of the M/V Stril Myster to start operations on the latest shot survey for BP’s Valhall Life of Field Seismic (LoF) project in the Norwegian North Sea.

In 2003, BP installed its LoF ocean bottom cable (OBC) array on Valhall and contracted WGP to design the source system. This has since been deployed for 11 repeat surveys.

Under the latest 3 1/2-year contract, which involves seven repeat surveys, WGP is responsible for installation and operation of the same portable source system, which is now owned by Thalassa Energy Services.

The Valhall LoF shooting area comprises 179 shot lines spaced 50 m (164 ft) apart with an average shot line length of 14.2 km (8.8 mi), over 13 permanently installed and trenched receiver lines of GERI OBC.
