HOUSTON – BP has awarded the RKV joint partnership the onshore front-end engineering and design contract for a third liquefaction train at the Tangguh LNG project in West Papua province, Indonesia.
The RKV brings together KBR, PT Rekayasa Industri, JGC Corp., and PT JGC Indonesia. Another consortium involving KBR completed the existing two-train Tangguh LNG plant in 2009.
Tangguh, in Teluk Bintuni, Papua Barat, will receive gas for the new train from a phased offshore development comprising new shallow-water platforms, pipelines to shore, infield pipelines, a new integrated onshore receiving facility and new development wells. The current capacity of 7.6 MM tons will climb to 11.4 MM tons when the expansion is completed.
