ABERDEEN, UK – ACE Winches will supply hydraulic drum winch systems for the Hebron oil field development in 90 m (295 ft) of water offshore Newfoundland & Labrador.
These will be used to assist connection of the platform’sgravity-based structure (GBS) and topsides.
ACE will provide 40-metric ton (44-ton) WLL hydraulic drum winches, two 12.5-metric ton (13.8-ton) WLL hydraulic drum winches, a diesel hydraulic power unit for each winch and running line monitors for line and load monitoring.
In 2014, the company supplied further winches for use in the dry dock to tension the GBS as it transitioned from dry dock into open water, and then to keep it in position during the maneuvering process.
