LUXEMBOURG Subsea7 has issued details of its recent project activity in a third-quarter update.

For Aker BP’s multi-field Yggdrasil development in the Norwegian North Sea, the focus has been on design engineering. Elsewhere in the Norwegian sector, Subsea7 continues offshore activities for the Hanz, Hasselmus, Heimdal, Kobra East Gekko, Ormen Lange, Northern Lights and Tyrving development using the construction vessels Seven Oceans, Seven Oceanic, Seven Falcon and Seven Navica.

Offshore Brazil, Seven Vega and Seven Pacific have been working for Equinor on the Bacalhau project, while for the Petrobras-operated Mero 3 in the presalt Santos Basin, the company installed torpedo piles and started fabrication works at Ubu.

In West Africa, Seven Seas installed structures for Woodside’s deepwater Sangomar project offshore Senegal, while in Angola onshore fabrication continued for TotalEnergies’ CLOV 3 project in offshore Block 17.

Seven Borealis completed the first campaign for Aramco’s Marjan 2 project offshore Saudi Arabia, while in Indonesia fabrication of pipe stalks began at the Bintan spoolbase for the Scarborough and Barossa gas projects offshore Australia.

As for offshore wind, Seaway Strashnov completed the installation of monopiles for Dogger Bank A in the UK southern North Sea, with Seaway Alfa Lift mobilizing in October for installation of the transition pieces.

In the Asia-Pacific region, Seaway Phoenix continued cable lay at the Changfang and Xidao project offshore Taiwan, and the newbuild foundation and turbine installation vessel, Seaway Ventus, underwent sea trials in China ahead of yard delivery in the current quarter.

Subsea7’s CEO John Evans said, “With a tight subsea vessel market in 2024 and 2025, we are now tendering work for major EPCI projects with offshore activity in 2026 and beyond. We see sustained capital expenditure by clients in the subsea market, where the carbon intensity of resources and extraction method is lower than the global hydrocarbon average…

“In offshore wind, our foundation and cable lay installation vessels are near-fully utilized on world-class projects through 2024 and 2025. Despite the recent uncertainty in the regulatory and fiscal environments in the UK and US markets, demand for our services is strong, including in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland.”
