Karish project offshore Israel delivers first gas

ATHENS, Greece — Energean Plc has produced first gas from its deepwater Karish Field development in the eastern Mediterranean Sea offshore Israel.

Gas is produced from the Karish Main-02 well, with the flow steadily ramping up.

Preparations are progressing for transmission through the gas sales pipeline, and gas sales to customers should begin shortly.

Within four weeks, the Karish Main-01 and Karish Main-03 wells should also be online.

The field’s Energean Power FPSO and the sales gas pipeline have a capacity of 8 Bcm per year.

Follow-up projects—the Karish North development, the FPSO’s second oil train and the second export riser—should be completed in late 2023, at which point the company expects the infrastructure to reach its full capacity.
