COUVA, Trinidad and Tobago DeNovo Energy Ltd. has contracted United Engineering Services Ltd. to construct, install, and commission a platform for the Zandolie field development offshore western Trinidad.

The unmanned minimal facilities platform is expected to be fully powered by wind and solar energy. The energy-saving design is said to feature a number of innovations to make it lighter and more efficient, as well as reducing the use of steel.

Bryan Ramsumair, managing director of DeNovo, said: “The selection of UESL emphasizes the wealth of in country capabilities in T&T to safely and efficiently deliver offshore projects of this unique nature.”

Zandolie will be a one-well, conductor supported platform with a nameplate capacity of 40 MMscf/d. It will be installed in a water depth of 20 m (65.6 ft) and tied back to the Iguana field facilities.

First gas from the Zandolie field is expected in the first half of 2022.
