SANDEFJORD, Norway – TechnipFMC has contracted Stauper Offshore to upgrade the compact flotation units (CFUs) at Equinor’s Martin Linge platform in the Norwegian North Sea.

As EPC contractor for the development, TechnipFMC is managing procurement. Stauper will supply the internals, supervise installation at the new platform and ensure the CFUs are converted to its design.

After assuming operatorship from Total of Martin Linge, Equinor commissioned an engineering study on upgrading the CFUs to ensure they featured qualified technology that Equinor is familiar with.

Stauper says its own, patented CFU differs from others through the use of a set of vessel internals for water flow control and separation. The system, which the company says is designed to remove oil, solids and gas from produced water efficiently, occupies a small footprint and is said to requires minimal operator intervention and no maintenance.

It has also been proven to reduce oil in water content close to zero PPM.
