TEHRAN, Iran – Iranian Offshore Oil Co. has contracted Petropars Group and Iran Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex for further development of the Forouzan oil field in the Persian Gulf.
Petropars CEO Hamid Reza Masoudi said the €290-million ($314-million) project calls for drilling of 12 new wells, 11 workovers, three re-entries, laying of three subsea pipelines 27 km (16.8 mi) in length, and installation and construction of two platforms and associated cables.
Forouzan is 100 km (62 mi) southeast of Khark Island: Iran shares the field with Saudi Arabia.
