HAMILTON, Bermuda — Seadrill has secured new work for two drillships.
West Capella will drill one well offshore South Korea, with an estimated duration of 40 days, starting in December. The value is about $32 million, including mobilization but excluding fees for additional services.
In the US Gulf of Mexico, an unnamed independent has extended West Neptune’s contract by six months, with the extension set to take effect during third-quarter 2025. The estimated value is $86 million, excluding fees for additional services such as managed pressure drilling (MPD).
Seadrill plans to upgrade the vessel with MPD capabilities during planned out-of-service periods, making it the 10th rig in the company’s fleet to offer MPD or MPD-equivalent capabilities.
