Keppel FELS Ltd. has won a $102 million contract from Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. for the upgrading of semisubmersible rig, Ocean Monarch.

(Asia-Pacific) - Keppel FELS Ltd. has won a $102 million contract from Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. for the upgrading of semisubmersible rig,Ocean Monarch.
Work will start mid-2006 at Keppel FELS yard in Singapore.
The semi is expected to be operationally ready in 4Q 2008 to operate in 10,000 ft of water in a moored configuration.
Keppel says the semi is the fourth in a series of fifth-generation Victory-class upgrades it has undertaken for Diamond Offshore.
The first two wereOcean Baroness and Ocean Rover, while the third, Ocean Endeavor is currently undergoing upgrading at Keppel FELS and is scheduled for completion in 4Q 2006.
Keppel and its US-based sister company, Keppel AmFELS, are also constructing two KFELS B Class jackup rigs for Diamond Offshore.
