Tayum-1 targets gas offshore Indonesia

LONDON --The jackup Randolph Yost has spudded the Tayum-1 exploration well in the Kutai production-sharing concession offshore East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

According to Salamander Energy, a partner in the well, the target is multiple stackedUpper Miocene deltaic sandstone reservoirs adjacent to the Dambus discovery.

Recoverable reserves could be in the range 80-182 bcf. A drilling success could lead to a commercial development on the block.
