CALGARY, CanadaValeura Energy is planning new development and exploration drilling this year on three of its licenses in the Gulf of Thailand.

In license G11/48, the Nong Yao C new development is underway to expand production from the Nong Yao oil field. The MOPU T7 Shirley has been refurbished and a 3-km subsea pipeline connects the facility to existing production infrastructure. The MOPU is on site and preparations have started for hookup, commissioning and a drilling program comprising up to nine producers and up to three water injector wells.

Valeura expects startup of the Nong Yao C in late June, eventually lifting production from the greater Nong Yao Field to about 11,000 bbl/d. In addition, the company plans to drill an exploration well on the nearby Nong Yao D prospect.

At the Jasmine/Ban Yen fields in license B5/27, Valeura is looking to drill it about seven wells in the second half of the year to sustain production, plus an exploration well on thee Ratree prospect.

It may also sanction more infill drilling later in the year on the Manora license G1/48.

An infill campaign on the Wassana Field in license G10/48 has been extended to five new wells and two workovers. The last two new wells/workovers came onstream in the past fortnight.
