STAVANGER, Norway — Wintershall Dea Norge and its partners, Petoro, Aker BP and PGNIG, are assessing development options for the Adriana gas-condensate discovery in the Norwegian Sea.
This follows the recently completed appraisal well drilled by the semisub Transocean Norge, which encountered good-quality reservoirs in the Cretaceous Lysing Formation.
Results led to an upgrade of recoverable volumes to 28 MMboe to 43 MMboe.
Adriana was proven in 2021 as part of a multi-level discovery that included the Dvalin North gas field, currently being developed as a subsea tieback to the Heidrun platform via the Wintershall Dea-operated Dvalin Field facilities.
It is 270 km north of Kristiansund in the Haltenbanken area, close to the Dvalin, Aerfugl and Skarv fields.
In addition, Wintershall Dea Norge is a partner in the nearby Idun North and Alve North developments, operated by Aker BP.
However, the planned sidetrack to appraise the deeper Sabina discovery had to be shelved for technical reasons but a reentry may follow later this year or in 2025.
The Transocean Norge rig has since transferred to the Wintershall Dea-operated Maria Field to drill wells for the Maria Phase 2 project.
