TRONDHEIM, Norway  Production from the recently onstream Talisker East well has raised production at the Brage Field center in the Norwegian North Sea by 60%, said operator OKEA in its latest trading statement.

Planning is underway for drilling a water injector and a second producer on Talisker East, and the company expects to continue production drilling on the Brage platform over the next few years, comprising a mixture of infill wells and development of new resources.

The completed Sognefjord gas producer is being prepared for startup in the current quarter, and the newly spudded Fensfjord south well should come onstream during the fourth quarter.

Finally, a pilot well on the Kim prospect has confirmed new oil resources that will undergo assessment for a potential development well from the Brage platform.

A plan for development and operation (PDO) for the Cook oil accumulation is out for government approval; a producer well is set to be drilled later this summer, coming online during the fall.

Concept studies have finished for a tie-in of the 30-MMboe recoverable Brasse Field, located 13 km from the platform, and work is progressing toward a concept decision (DG2).

At the OKEA-operated Draugen platform in the Norwegian Sea, topside installation work is progressing for the Hasselmus tieback, which should start production in the fourth quarter. The schedule includes installation of new, upgraded subsea pumps. Hasselmus’ subsea xmas tree is due to be installed at the end of this month, and the 8-km flowline to the platform was laid in May.

Topside modifications and installation have also begun for the early scope for the Draugen power from shore project, designed to reduce annual emissions of CO2 from Draugen by 200,000 metric tons and 130,000 metric tons from the nearby Equinor-operated Njord field center.

In addition, the project should lower Draugen’s operating costs and extend the field’s economic lifetime of the Draugen Field.

A factory fire broke out at the premises of one of the project’s planned equipment suppliers. The team is now working on a recovery plan in cooperation with the supplier to mitigate the potential cost and schedule impact; the power from shore project is due to be completed in 2027.

Also, in the Draugen area, the Transocean Endurance has recently started an observation well drilling campaign on the Springmus East prospect and Garn West South area.
