LONDON — The Noble Resilient jackup has spud an exploration well on the Pensacola gas prospect in the UK southern North Sea for operator Shell UK and partner Deltic Energy.
Surrounding license P2252 is in the Zechstein Reef play fairway. Deltic estimates Pensacola’s prospective resources at 309 Bcf. CEO Graham Swindells described it as a potentially paly-opening prospect.
Drilling should last 60 to 90 days, with the well to be plugged and abandoned upon completion.
