ABERDEEN, UK – Petronas subsidiary PSE Kinsale Energy has awarded HydraWell a multi-year contract to support a major decommissioning project in the Celtic Sea.
The company will implement its patented perforate, wash and cement (PWC) system on about 15 wells across PSE Kinsale Energy’s assets as part of the two-year campaign.
PWC technology has the potential to slash the operational sequence by up to six days when compared to the conventional section milling alternative, the company claimed.
PSE Kinsale Energy initially deployed the PWC technology on a well in December 2020 and, due to the achieved success, it will continue to work with HydraWell on up to 75% of the remaining P&A activities.
