Maersk Viking to drill for KNOC offshore South Korea

Korea National Oil Corp. has contracted the drillship Maersk Viking for an exploration well in block 6-1 offshore South Korea.

LYNGBY, Denmark – Korea National Oil Corp. (KNOC) has contracted the drillship Maersk Viking for an exploration well in block 6-1 offshore South Korea.

The $14.5-million contract should begin in June 2021, with the program set to last for 45 days.

The Maersk Viking was delivered to Maersk Drilling in 2013, and is currently mobilizing for a campaign in Brunei Darussalam.
