INVERURIE, UK -- Offshore accommodation provider Ferguson Modular has appointed Graham Cowperthwaite as Chief Operating Officer of its accommodation support vessel (ASV) division. He previously held senior roles managing energy facilities off- and onshore for companies including KCA Deutag Drilling and OIS International.

Ferguson is investing $37 million in its first accommodation support vessel, which should be available to support offshore projects from June onwards. This is a new departure for the company, which until now has focused on rental of offshore accommodation complexes and work space units. It plans to assemble a fleet of similar ASVs for energy industry operations worldwide.

Currently the company is finalizing manufacture of the 49 DNV 2.7-1 / EN 12079 certified modules that will comprise the accommodation complex on board the new ASV. This will provide accommodation and facilities for between 120 and 240 POB (persons on board) depending on client project requirements.
