Subsea equipment company Koil Energy names new CEO

Koil Energy Solutions President, CEO and CFO Charles Njuguna has resigned due to a family health matter.

HOUSTON — Charles Njuguna, president, CEO and CFO of Koil Energy Solutions, a subsea energy equipment and services provider, has resigned due to a family health matter.

Njuguna has also resigned as a member of the company’s board of directors. He will stay on through March 31, 2024, and oversee the 2023 fiscal year-end audit and financial reporting.

In connection with Njuguna’s resignation, Erik Wiik has been appointed a member of the company’s board, effective March 8, and to serve as its next CEO, effective April 1.

Wiik has been working with the company as a consultant since September 2023. He has more than three decades of experience in the energy industry, including extensive knowledge of subsea technology gained during his 24-year tenure with Aker Solutions.
