SHARJAH, UAE — Lamprell has provided an update on its offshore oil and gas and offshore wind construction activities.
The company has been working through a series of oil and gas EPCI projects for clients in the Middle East, including production decks, offshore jackets, platform upgrades, and laying of associated pipelines and subsea cables.
At the company’s Hamriyah yard in the UAE, two of these projects have finished. One covered two production decks, the installation of 2.8 km of subsea pipeline and 3.1 km of subsea power cables. The second involved delivery of three drilling jackets and two well observation platforms.
Last August, the company secured work for a project that required fabrication, painting and load-out of five offshore jackets and boat landings, with an option for the supply and fabrication of grillage and sea-fastening. Construction of all five jackets is in progress.
During fourth-quarter 2023, two more EPCI projects were awarded. The scope of the first includes two offshore jackets, two production deck modules, and associated pipeline and subsea cables.
The second calls for four offshore jackets, one production deck module, and related pipeline and subsea cables, with another jacket recently added. Deliveries should take place throughout the remainder of this year and into 2025.
A final project, currently still in the engineering phase, involves fabricating production decks and jackets as well as upgrade works.
Lamprell’s new renewable energy production line, commissioned last year, can construct transition pieces, monopiles, jackets and floating offshore wind components.
The company has invested in automated high-capacity can rolling, welding, milling and non-destructive testing to expand its foundation production capacity and can now undertake serial production of wind turbine generator substructures for fixed and floating foundation projects.
