Statoil cleared for further interventions

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has given Statoil consent to use the Island Wellserver for well intervention activities on two fields offshore Norway.

OSLO, Norway -- Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has given Statoil consent to use the Island Wellserver for well intervention activities on two fields offshore Norway.

Statoil previously had consent to deploy the vessel for well interventions on fields in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea, and this has been extended to the Yttergryta field and Snøhvit in the Barents Sea.

Intervention work will start in September and continue throughout 2011.
