Element Materials partners with Bodycote on ultrasonic test service

AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands – Element Materials Technology has agreed with Bodycote Hardingscentrum BV to launch a new automatic ultrasonic testing (AUT) validation service to oil and gas clients.

A requirement under Offshore Standard DNV-OS-F101, AUT process validation is critical to demonstrate that weld inspection systems can accurately detect and size defects, ensuring that pipelines are free of critical faults.

Under the service agreement, Element facilities in Breda and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, will undertake the metallurgical sectioning required to perform AUT validation, while Bodycote Hardingscentrum BV in Diemen, the Netherlands, will provide immersion ultrasonic testing (IUT) support.
