DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia—Aramco has entered a strategic partnership with Zoom, the company announced at the second LEAP international technology conference.
Zoom will build its first global data center in the Kingdom to support Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation. The new facility will connect to the Zoom global data center network and will serve Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
In addition, the two parties will consider joint development of innovative technologies for the energy sector.
At the same event, Aramco revealed it had allocated further funds to its venture capital division Wa’ed Ventures, increasing the size from $200 million to $500 million, for regional and global investments.
Wa’ed Ventures aims to localize global frontier technologies to advance the Kingdom’s innovation; grow investments in mid and growth-stage startups; and fund domains such as environmental and quantum computing.
