NSC, NOC team up for subsea research

The National Subsea Centre (NSC) has formed a partnership with NOC Innovations to jointly address marine-related issues.

The National Subsea Centre (NSC) has formed a partnership with Southampton-based NOC Innovations, which fosters marine research and autonomous technology for use by organizations worldwide.

Researchers, engineers and scientists at the two sites will jointly address marine-related issues, helping to develop solutions for robotics, sensors and instrumentation, data science, artificial intelligence, imaging, object detection and classification, digital twins, simulation and remote sensing.

By pooling their resources, the aim is to generate stronger funding proposals and research agendas aligned with industry needs.

The NOC "Innovation Centre" comprises engineering and testing facilities as well as a warehouse that contains a Flowloop, hyperspectral imaging laboratory, robotics area, materials laboratory and an Innovation Hub.
