HOUSTON – Expro has acquired UK-based Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS) company SolaSense.

SolaSense’s well surveillance technology includes portable processing software and visualization interface for near real-time analysis of distributed acoustic sensing/ distributed temperature sensing data at the well site.

According to Expro, this allows well characteristics to be recognized and evaluated, avoiding the need to shut-in wells for extended periods and minimizing production losses.

Expro now plans to offer clients a one-stop-shop service for evaluation of the entire well and the provision of subsequent remediation solutions.

The company’s own DFOS system monitors dynamic behavior in the well, providing a health check and diagnosis of any well/reservoir issues.

It can be deployed thru-tubing and used to analyze and assess well performance and integrity within hours of completion of a survey.
