LEIDSCHENDAM, the Netherlands– Seabed Geosolutions has received an award for a 3D ocean bottom node (OBN) survey in the Gulf of Mexico by an unnamed major energy company.
Covering 270 sq km (104 sq mi) and in water depths up to 2,100 m (6,890 ft), the survey is expected to start in 3Q 2019 and take approximately four months to complete.
It will be executed withocean bottom nodes deployed by ROVs and simultaneous source acquisition, with an imaging target that lies beneath a challenging overburden, including complex, overhanging salt bodies.
